Coinbase Angers Crypto Community Yet Again With Its ‘Convert Your Bitcoin Into Other Cryptos’

Coinbase is yet again taking the brunt of crypto community’s anger as a Redditor posted about, “Coinbase is sending out mail encouraging users to convert their bitcoin to shitcoins #deletecoinbase.”

This has been in relation with an email that Coinbase is apparently sending to its customers where it provides the options of “convert any portion of your Bitcoin into other cryptos in just a couple clicks,” for those who are “curious” about other cryptocurrencies.

While Reditor Marcion_Sinope said,

“Hostile actor with a long, sleazy track record,” another one said, “Armstrong likes the idea to dethrone Bitcoin.”

“Whoa – so this cryptocurrency exchange lets you EXCHANGE crypto..?? WOW. MUst deLeTe,” said another Redditor.

Another Redditor said,

“It’s important for bitcoiners to know that Coinbase isn’t our friend,” while another has this to say, “Isn’t it possible to be a BTC man while still trying to profit from a little trading?”

However, not everyone is against Coinbase as @LAMikeG commented, “Let people make their own choices and learn from them, they’ll come back to BTC eventually. If coinbase only offered BTC, they would be leaving market share on the table.”

While, @coinjunky commented,

“How so? Isn’t the point of bitcoin to make value seamless? If I couldn’t optionally buy whatever digital or physical pieces of information I would be worried. Coinbase is just in the business of enabling people to do what they want.”

“Tbf pretty much every exchange on earth does this,” said Udi Timechainheimer while @AUAggy says, “build. promote. compete. free market.”
